Why Back-to-School Eye Exams Matter

Whether you have little kids or you are going back to school yourself, there is a long list of things that you have to do before the first day. Not only do you have to get a few new things to wear, but you also need to make sure that your kiddos are up to date on all of their vaccinations. Another thing that we encourage all of our patients who are back to school to do is to get an eye exam, but why?

Start the School Year Off Right

You wouldn’t send your elementary aged kid to school without shoes and lunch, would you? Similarly, you don’t want to send them to their first day of school not being able to see the board clearly. By getting ahead of it and getting them an eye exam before school even starts, you can ensure that they start their school year off on the right foot.

Prescriptions Take Time

Another thing that you want to consider is that prescription lenses take a little bit of time to make. Depending on the style of lenses that you or your child pick, it may take several weeks for us to order them and get them into our office. So, if you or your child does need prediction lenses, then getting an exam done sooner will help you get the actual glasses sooner.

They Will Feel Better

When you or your child can’t see clearly, it can cause a host of problems including dizziness, fatigue, or, even chronic headaches. To help avoid all of these symptoms, get ahead of the curve, and get an eye exam so that you don’t have to worry about feeling sick during the first few weeks of school.
