LASIK Surgery in West Springfield, MA

I got a laser eye procedure (ASA) and had great results! I mostly dealt with Dr. Walkowiak who was very kind and informative, he told me ASA would be a better choice than LASIK in my case, and I trusted that he would have said if I was not a suitable candidate. Dr. Warren did the procedure which was very quick with minimal discomfort, maybe 20 minute max. The first two weeks of recovery were pretty hard. I had blurry vision and needed to use a lot of eye drops, but they told me all of this before so I was prepared. It was about a month when my vision stabilized to what it was like when I had glasses, but I was comfortable driving maybe 10 days later. My glasses prescription was -5.00; it's been about 3 months since the surgery and my vision is 20/20 now.
If you want your vision corrected, go get a consultation to see if you're a good candidate, I would totally do it again.

I wish I explored LASIK sooner. This office’s staff are incredibly knowledgeable, especially Dr. Warren who did my procedure & Dr. Walkowiak who I have met with prior to my procedure, as well as after for post-op. The surgery coordinator, Laura, was so helpful with answering questions, scheduling appointments and ensuring all questions were answered.

I was a better candidate for PRK vs. LASIK which has been nothing but positive. It has been life changing to not have to wear contacts or glasses.

Best decision I ever made was to have ASA eye surgery here (LASIK) and best money spent in my life. Dr Warren performed the procedure and everything went well. Can't thank him enough! It is truly a blessing to be able to see 20/20 currently and can almost see 20/10. This was 2 and half years ago when done. Staff are nice, building is clean etc. If you are thinking of getting LASIK done don't over think it just do it if you qualify!

Everyone was so nice and thoroughly explained the procedure and all possible risks associated. During my LASIK procedure they explained everything that were doing step by step so I wasn’t surprised. My vision is now 20/15! Absolutely the best decision ever. I highly recommend!

Had LASIK done here a week ago, so it’s an early review of course. But I can say the staff at Longwood are all fantastic - Dr Walkowiak did all my pre and post op care, and Dr Warren performed the procedure. Both have been wonderful to work with, and I couldn’t be more happy with my results so far. The procedure was painless and extremely quick - I think I was in the room for less than 10 minutes. My eyes were a little uncomfortable afterwards but took a nap (which accidentally ended up being a 4 hour nap). When I woke up, I felt totally fine, and I could see clearly, even through the plastic eye covers. One week down the line and my vision is better than 20/20, with the expectation that it’ll only continue to improve over the next month or so.

Dr. Warren and Dr. Walkowiak were both outstanding doctors and I am so grateful to have booked my LASIK through Longwood Eye. All other staff at Longwood Eye were great as well. Dr. Walkowiak was very kind, approachable, knowledgeable, and helped to answer any questions I had and make me comfortable during the entire pre op process. I had LASIK done in April of 2022 and wanted to wait a while before I gave a review. It's safe to say now that it was the best decision I've made and I'm extremely happy I went with Longwood Eye & LASIK. They made the entire process incredibly seamless and the procedure itself was quick, easy, and painless. I was in and out of the office the day of my procedure in a little over an hour, and I was only in the procedure room for about 10-15 minutes. I was able to drive myself to my follow-up appointment the very next morning. I experienced a bit of "haloing" after my procedure for a few months, especially while driving at night and around lights indoors, but that subsided (like the doctors said it would) after about 6 months or so. My vision before LASIK was about 20/800 and now I'm at 20/15 which is even better than it was with contacts. I would highly recommend Longwood Eye & LASIK if you are considering LASIK. I wish I had done this years ago but I'm very glad I finally did.

I had my LASIK here on Thursday and couldn’t be happier. I have worked on getting over my severe phobia of eyes but when I was ready to do the surgery, this was the place. Dr. Walkowiak was so kind and thorough and answered all of my questions; he was honest and very reassuring about what to expect. His instructions for pre-surgery made me know they were looking out for me and my eye health. Dr. Warren did the surgery and was equally amazing, he told me what to expect and was a reassuring pretense throughout. The entire staff was fantastic and I never doubted like I was in good hands.

I am referring them all over the place, and my only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner- but later is better than never. I can’t recommend Longwood enough.

The office has been nothing but nice to me! I received such individualized supported care and support throughout the process. All my questions were met with kindness and clarity. Never did I have to wonder what was meant. The care they gave has been truly amazing.

I had such a strong prescription and I never would have guessed having corrective surgery is something I would not only qualify for but … for it to work! I see so well, it’s only been about a month, but I am constantly in awe over the progress in my vision.

I recently had LASIK done in February 2002, but I wanted to wait until today’s last scheduled follow-up to post a review! My vision is 20/10 now which I was not expecting at all! Before, I could barely see a few feet in front of me without glasses/ contacts.

I had the most wonderful experience from the very first consultation. On the day of the appointment, all the providers made sure I was comfortable and laughing throughout the procedure, even going as far as to giving me a stress ball (which I didn’t even know I would need, but I definitely was glad to have it).

Overall, very impressed with the office flow, from check in, to seeing the provider, and even to discussing finances/ appointments. I’m planning on staying at this practice for my annual checkups in the future!

I am in my 40's and waited a long time to get LASIK done. I had worn contacts for 20 years and was happy with them, but over time they started to irritate my eyes more and more and I decided it was time. I'm an emergency physician but chose the Eye and LASIK Center in West Springfield because of the great online reviews and they were completely right!

From my very first visit, everything was very professional and efficient. Over my initial (free) consultation and a pre-op visit, Dr. Walkowiak answered every one of my questions honestly and in a way that was easy to understand. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Warren made me feel completely at ease and the whole thing took maybe 10-15 minutes. It was completely painless except for maybe 10 seconds of slight discomfort on each eye. I was able to watch a movie that night and the next morning I was back to doing most of my usual activities with minimal eye irritation and PERECT VISION!!

I can't recommend this group enough. I can look around now, see everything clearly with no eye irritation from contacts, and I can't believe I waited this long to get it done.

Above and beyond. I just had my LASIK operation in West Springfield yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The staff is extremely professional. The operation was quick with minimal discomfort (nothing more than the feeling of pressing on your eyeball). And I can see without glasses! I say above and beyond because the staff helped me buy lunch and even drove me to the nearby hotel where I was staying after the operation! The scheduling and evaluation staff in Gardner was also great and very accommodating. Thank you all so much!!!

This was the best experience I have had when it comes to corrective vision surgery. It was only $3k regardless of prescription within reason, and the doctors work as a team, throughly explain all risks and benefits and it includes six months of post op care. I had done consults with the two other big LASIK providers in Western Mass prior to finding Longwood Eye and LASIK. While those providers have their place… for standard ASA and LASIK they don’t make sense because they charge based on the severity of your prescription and rely too heavily on their non-medical staff when trying to help the patient decide which procedure is right for you, those other places consults felt like walking into a used car lot versus a medical provider you are trusting with one of your five sense …your sight. Longwood Eye and LASIK was straightforward, didn’t play pricing games, easy to book and reschedule with when needed, clean, professional and was honest. I spent over twenty years not being able to see properly and wish I had gone sooner.

I went in for a LASIK consultation and after confirming that I was a good candidate with Dr. Walkowiak they were able to find me an appointment later that week. He explained the whole procedure to me and what I would have to do the day of. Dr. Warren was the one who did my surgery and he explained exactly what he was doing while he was doing it. It was a quick easy procedure and they made sure I was ok before letting me leave. The next day I went in for my follow up and was reading at 20/20. I got a couple more follow-up visits and was told if I had any questions or problems to give them a call. This was a very pleasant professional experience and they made me feel comfortable the whole time. With the overall experience and the reasonable flat rate, I don't think I could've found a better place to get this done.

I am 2 months post LASIK surgery and the entire experience here has been incredible. I was anxious about proceeding with the surgery, but the entire process was so smooth, from the initial assessment, pre/postoperative care and of course the procedure itself all went so well. I couldn't be more pleased with my recent LASIK procedure at Longwood Eye and LASIK in West Springfield. The center's reputation precedes itself and I got my referral from my reputable eye doctor in a neighboring town. The evaluation process was thorough, the doctors/surgeons have decades of experience, the staff is super nice and the equipment is modern German engineered. If all of that is not enough for you, they offer the most affordable price for this complex procedure. Highly recommend to anyone who needs eyesight correction.

Getting LASIK was a non-event with Longwood Eye and LASIK … it was AMAZING. Customer service was great, prompt assistance when I had pharmacy drama, easy scheduling, understandable pre and post op instructions, kind people, and the procedure itself was a walk in the park. You could tell they’d done it a million times, but still cared for everyone. And on top of all that, the price was great, and financing was an option. I would 100% do it again.

In Jan 2021 I had LASIK eye surgery here and waited a full year to write a review so that I truly had a sense of the healing process and how my vision turned out. I did a LOT of research ahead of selecting the Eye and LASIK Center and looked at options all over New England and am happy I went with this location. They were informative, upfront about pricing, knowledgeable, and the facility was clean, professional feeling and welcoming. The biggest draw for me was when they explained that when they do the cut of the flap they do it in a “c” instead of a “u” like many places which means they only cut one nerve into the eye instead of two, which means your eye can still detect the need for tears so dry eye is much less of an issue. Even the fact that they explained this to me was more info than I received at a consult at a different place and made me feel confident in using them. They also did more thorough tests upfront and said I needed to not wear my contacts for two weeks prior to properly allow my eyes to hear (the other place said only a few days and didn’t mention that my eyes were irritated and needed medicated drops to heal them). I did have a bit of an unpleasant experience with my follow up consult before the procedure, where I two young women who seems very new, do my preliminary tests and they acted like they didn’t really know what they were doing and made me uncomfortable and very very nervous, but I spoke with the doctor who did all the secondary tests and he was reassuring, but it still made me second guess my decision a bit though I still decided to go through with it. The day of the procedure went very smoothly and exactly as they had explained and as I had expected from all my research. The procedure was so quick and I was actually surprised that the Dr was chatting with me during it. It was definitely weird to experience but wasn’t painful at all. The worst part was the ride home (which was an hour for me) and that was when my eyes felt like I had rubbed onions in them but after getting home and taking a long nap the pain had subsided and I could see. My sight continued to heal for about a month that I could tell and in the first week every day was noticeably better - even though I could see it was hard to focus from near to far for that first week and distance wasn’t perfect. I took all the eye drops, omega3 pills and followed all the directions and after a year I rarely feel the need eye drops at all and am so so happy I went through with the surgery. I don’t see perfectly at night, but I never did while using contacts either, so it doesn’t bother me and the benefits of not dealing with the issues, frustration and pain of wearing contacts largely outweighs a little blurriness at night, which is not even something I notice all the time. I would recommend this location if you are looking for a place to get LASIK that is reliable and competent. I am happy every day that I had LASIK and would go back here again, as well as recommended it to friends and family.

It’s been almost 2 months since I had LASIK done. Prior to this procedure I have been wearing contact lenses for over 10 years. I’m finally free of the hassle of putting them in every morning and taking them out at night. The staff here and the surgeon were awesome. I am very happy with the outcome and would recommend this place to anyone that is thinking about LASIK.

I just had LASIK eye surgery here and I cannot say enough about how great my experience was. My sister came here over 10 years ago for her own LASIK and had a great experience, so I knew that I wanted to also come here. They were extremely transparent and kind throughout the whole process. Even during the surgery Dr. Warren explained every single thing that was going on. Dr Walkowiak is one of the kindest and funniest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, he explained everything throughly and simplified the entire process. I would definitely do it all over again! This procedure definitely changed my life.

I have been wearing glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 7th grade. I just turned 40 in Sept 2020 and decided it was time to ditch the endless cost and work of keeping up with contacts so I took the leap to do something for myself and get Laser Eye Surgery. I was a candidate for the ASA procedure and they were wonderful. So clean, patient, thorough.... during my consultation the doctor sat with me for 45 minutes while I asked all of my nervous questions. The idea of choosing to shoot a laser into your eye was a little frightening. The recovery was exactly as described - they prescribed all of the drops needed to ensure a healthy safe and speedy recovery. While I’m so impressed and pleased with my results, I’d have to say I am equally as pleased with the care and attention of the staff. If this is something you are ever considering doing - I urge you to get the Cadillac of eye surgery centers and go with Longwood Eye & LASIK. I personally went to the West Springfield, MA location but I’m sure the other locations are equally as wonderful.

I wasn't sure if I was a candidate for eye surgery, but I called and made a consultation appt to be sure. Turns out I was a candidate and the process from there was very smooth and laid out. The procedure itself was so easy and painless and the recovery was pretty quick. I had mild discomfort for the first two days and within a week my vision was 20/20. I would recommend them to anyone thinking of getting LASIK.

Longwood Eye and LASIK of West Springfield did my ASA procedure. This was the best decision I ever made. They walked me through every step and I was very very sensitive to someone touching or coming near my eyes and I have extremely bad anxiety and handled the procedure great! The entire team was thorough, informative, kind and do-diligent. We decided to do ASA instead of the LASIK procedure due to my sensitivity. The procedure itself was so quick that my fiancé didn’t even have time to go grab a coffee. Recovery was just as expected to what the doctors had told me and it’s now been 3 full months since my procedure and my vision is better then I ever imagined it could be without glasses. Right eye is 20/15 and my left eye is 20/20. When I first came in, I had horrible astigmatism and couldn’t read anything without glasses and everything was very blurry. Driving at night was almost impossible even with glasses and now I see so clear and sharp at night without any glare. If you’re thinking of doing LASIK or ASA I 10000% recommended it and I especially recommend Longwood Eye and LASIK of West Springfield! The price is great compared to others and the service and result are outstanding!

If you are on the fence on whether to get LASIK or not - I had my surgery on 10/22/2020 and the only regret I have was not doing the surgery sooner! The professionalism from the staff at the reception to the doctors is is second to none. They walk you thru the process and make you feel comfortable and secure. Will you be anxious and hesitant? I had LASIK performed in January at the West Springfield site by Dr. Warren. All of the staff were very kind and knowledgeable. Got my LASIK procedure done here and I couldn't be happier with the results. During the surgery, I experienced no pain at all! Post-op, I barely had any discomfort and healed nicely. The doctors allowed for the whole process to go by quick and smooth and they explained everything very thoroughly. They were also very organized and timely. Barely any wait time at all for any of my appointments. I would say that if you are feeling hesitant about getting LASIK like I was, you should just go for it and be sure to get the procedure done with Longwood Eye & LASIK! Highly recommend!

Here I am one week post LASIK eye surgery and still in awe of the whole process. Every night I still feel like I need to remove my contacts because I can't remember ever being able to lay in my bed and watch TV or look around the room without them (or my glasses). I had my one week checkup today and seeing better than 20/20...Unbelievable! The LASIK eye center is the best of the best. The facility is beautiful and the doctors and staff are fantastic. I am so incredibly grateful and happy that I chose to have LASIK and chose the LASIK eye center to do it. If you're considering it...DO IT!!! It is worth every penny.

Last Thursday on 11/12 I had my LASIK surgery! I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 7 years old. I dabbled with contacts but because of my severe astigmatism they were never comfortable and were always short lasting. I’ve always wanted LASIK surgery but was to nervous to even make the consult appointment. I have pretty severe anxiety issues. Well, I finally called and made my consult appointment! From the minute I walked through the doors of the West Springfield LASIK center I felt welcomed and comfortable. The girls at the front desk were all cheerful and helpful!

The day of my scheduled surgery (which was less than a week after my consult!) I was beyond nervous! The coordinator gave me something to settle my nerves and as always was the sweetest, most patient person!! (Shout out to him, sorry I’m bad with names!) next came my surgery. Dr. Warren lived up to his great reputation and was thorough and gentle. He talked me through the short surgery and continuously asked if I was still doing ok. As for the actual surgery, I’m sure many are reading this in hopes of getting insight. I did the same thing before making my jump.

The surgery was short and painless. There is one portion that has some pressure. But no pain at all! Do NOT listen to horror stories you may read somewhere on the internet! Go to see Dr. Warren. If you are anything like me and have anxiety and are a perfectionist. Stop your research here! This is your place! Dr. Warren and his team is your LASIK team!

If curious about post-op: the worst of it is the dry eye (artificial tears are your best friend! Get the big box!!) a bit of crusty eye lashes from all of the drops you use for the first week. Warm wash cloth twice a day helps a ton! The next day when I say in the chair for my post-op follow up I was told I had 20/20 in both eyes!!! I literally broke down crying! I knew I was seeing well, but I was not expecting this so soon! The day I was told I have 20/20 will be a day I remember for the rest of my life!

In conclusion, don’t wait. Book your consult! It was worth every penny! I only wish I did it sooner! THANK YOU Dr. Warren and the whole team at West Springfield LASIK center! I will forever be grateful for my new vision!

ASA corrective eye surgery has been one of the absolute best things I have ever done! No more glasses, no more contacts, no more squinting or dry eyes from contacts. It’s amazing to be able to wake up and see! This is all thanks to Longwood Eye & LASIK. My experience with Longwood Eye & LASIK has been phenomenal. Everyone that I have interacted with has been friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I was excited but nervous having corrective vision surgery, but the doctors and staff put any apprehension at ease. They were very responsive and really prepared me for the procedure. Everything that I experienced while recovering was disclosed in the pre-op visits, so I knew exactly what to expect. The entire process - the screening, the pre-op, the operation itself and the post op visits - were scheduled in advance and the staff was so organized and accommodating with the scheduling. It's been 2&1/2 years since I had PRK (a form of LASIK) done to my eyes. Everyone was extremely thorough in making sure that I was a good fit for surgery by performing different tests on me. Very kind people.

I did the research prior to and found that this was the most affordable place around. They are experienced. The procedure went without a hitch and was painless.

Putting in eye drops was the only difficulty for me afterwards, because I've never used them. But they gave me practice drops well we before the surgery so I was well prepared after surgery. Your eyes will need some time to heal and recover after surgery.

I always wanted eye corrective surgery since I was a child. My horrible eyesight was a hindrance to my self confidence, ability in sports, and school. It interfered more recently with my work, doing landscaping or repairing motors.

2&1/2 years past and after the surgery was done, my eyesight has had no problems in the light, dark, near or far! I couldn't be more pleased with this life changing procedure!

After the PRK procedure, I went back to college after a 10-year hiatus, and I have since been more confident in my abilities and am on my way to getting my 3rd and 4th associates degrees and going for my bachelor's in fall 2020. It's as if I've been less stressed without glasses. I've had a better time at the gym, beach, school, landscaping and working on motors.

I am pleased to provide this very positive review of the Eye & LASIK Center in West Springfield, MA, along with its staff. I had my consultation to determine if I was a suitable candidate for LASIK on Thurs, Aug 9, 2018. After the staff took the time to examine my eyes and take preliminary measurements, they deemed me to be a great candidate for LASIK. I agreed it was the best course of corrective action for my eyes. I was scheduled for pre-op eye measurements on Wed, Oct 3, 2018, and then my surgery was scheduled for Thurs, Oct 11, 2018. Dr. Warren and Dr. Walkowiak did an excellent job of explaining exactly what was going to happen before, during, and after the surgery. The cost of the surgery includes all pre and post op appointments. (4 in total: 1 before; 3 after) I had a good deal of discomfort the evening after my surgery, which was to be expected. I was able to see with crystal clear vision, albeit with moderate discomfort, the very next morning. That same morning was my first post-op appointment, when my vision was assessed at 20/15 in both eyes (prior vision was about 20/60). The two prescription drops, in addition to the tear drops, helped me have a swift recovery in both comfort and healing. I am writing this review because I am incredibly pleased with how well this experience panned out for me. I am very happy with how clear my vision is (still 20/15 as of my one-week post-op appointment); I feel like I got to hit the reset button on my vision. This was the best investment I could have made on myself. I thank the surgical services team for an all-around great experience; I would recommend the Eye & LASIK Center to anyone who is a good candidate for LASIK.

Dr. Warren is the GOAT, my LASIK went extremely well. It was painless and I had no soreness or pain after my procedure, heavily recommend! Everyone working there was very nice and I was in and out.

Great experience at the West Springfield office, from the beginning all the way through the end. The procedure was painless and my vision now is excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is considering getting LASIK.

Highly recommended for laser correction surgery! The surgical center in Springfield is beautiful and very clean. I had a great outcome and can see so well! The office in Gardner has been following me after the surgery and both Dr. Maher and Dr. Glavine are great! Both are highly skilled doctors and they provide excellent patient care. Everyone at the front desk and the office manager are very nice. I will continue to see them for my routine eye care and they now have a lifelong patient. I was recommended here by my sister-in-law for LASIK surgery. Let me tell you, it was the best thing I have ever done. I had LASIK done back in December of last year and words cannot describe how happy I am, that I no longer have to wear glasses. The surgery was fast and painless - I did not feel anything.
